About Tom Getty

I’m a filmmaker, trailer editor, and composer who believes in emotional storytelling. I’ve spent years honing the rhythm and feel of cinematic trailers—and I bring that intensity to every project I take on.


When I was starting out as an aspiring filmmaker, it frustrated me deeply that there wasn't any information on making movie trailers. Especially blockbuster movie trailers. Not to mention the other constant need—music. My films (and trailers) needed music! And when I learned you couldn't use copyrighted music, I was up against a wall. Not to mention the fact that stock music just never "cut" it.


So, I taught myself how to make music. Specifically soundtrack/trailer music. It's great to provide this skill to my clients and any other filmmakers who need music for their films or trailers.
